As the years roll by it is becoming more and more apparent that the Imperial Military Medals system has fallen into disrepute. It is our wish to build a register of legitimate medal claims to use as evidence to instigate an overhaul of the current system.
The Ministry of Defence (MoD) along with the Honours Decorations (HD) Committee have allowed inconsistencies and disparity to undermine the system.
The aim of this website is to collate individual examples to build the foundations of a case to establish a set of fundamental principles that should be employed moving forward as best practice. Were necessary apply these principles to retrospectively fix any flawed qualification criteria.
It is not hard to spot problems, for example long service. There are examples of long service being 10, 12, 15 or 18 years. Certain Service personnel can also be totally excluded. Another example is GSM qualification which can be 1 to 120 days!

It is important we help to reinstate our medal system to be the best in the world; we have much work to do.
